Rink piping systems

There are two basic systems of cooling technology for ice rinks:

Direct cooling provided for permanent ice rinks

There is only one cooling circuit. The refrigerants ammonia or carbon dioxid is directly transported via steel tubes into a concrete slab.

Indirect cooling provided for portable and permanent ice rinks

The indirect cooling system consists of two circuits. A cooling circuit and a transport circuit are connected by a heat exchanger.

Technologies of indirect cooling:

• EPDM-Mats (provided for portable ice rinks)
• Aluminium plates (provided for portable ice rinks)
• IceGrid system (provided only for ice rinks)
